Q: |
What
is CLS? |
|
A: |
CLS stands for Collaborative Learning Solutions; an evolutionary learning system
that combines the best of Distance Learning and Instructor Led Training into a flexible
cost-effective package |
|
Q: |
Is
CLS similar to e-Learning or CBT? |
|
A: |
CLS is not e-Learning – It is a Real-time structured collaboration between Student
and Trainer delivered in an anytime anywhere flexible format. From printed courseware,
to online labs, to practice exams – you’ll be supported by a dedicated certified
trainer tasked with ensuring you get all the training support that you need – when
you need it. |
|
Q: |
Who else offers CLS? |
|
A: |
CLS is exclusive to Netscope Training, a Gold certified award winning training provider
with more than 10 years training experience and endorsed by leading software vendors |
If still have any unanswered questions, be sure to contact us, and we will be glad to help.
|
Q: |
How are the examination dates made up? Is there a time-frame in terms of deadlines
for examinations? |
|
A: |
You can write your International examinations (in order to get certified) at any
time that suits you. Generally, however, you would only attempt your International
exams once you have completed the relevant study section from your learning track,
to ensure you have sufficiently prepared for the examination. Also, we recommend
that once you begin your first exam in a particular certification, that you take
no longer than one year to complete the final exam. |
|
Q: |
Are International exam costs included in the learning track price? |
|
A: |
No. This is due to the fact that exams are written at either VUE or Prometric international
testing centres, and these can be written at any location in the world. This makes
it nearly impossible for us to include International exams in our packages as these
various exam centres charge different rates in order to use their facilities. However,
if you are a student within South Africa, and you write your International Exams
at our examination facilities, then you will receive an automatic discount to your
exams. These discounts are included as discount coupons which you will receive with
your Study Kit upon registration. |
|
Q: |
How do I know if I’m ready for the international exams? |
|
A: |
This is a tough question to answer, as it depends on the level of effort you have
placed in your studies. However, we try to assist you as far as possible in order
to prepare. How do we do this? Simple: we provide access to you to the CLS Study
Portal's online testing engine (a.k.a. netTest).
|
|
Q: |
What is netTest, and is it included in my learning track upon registration? |
|
A: |
Yes, netTest is included in your learning track when you register. It is a free
added service we provide to all registered students. netTest allows students to practice and prepare for their International Exams. |
If still have any unanswered questions, be sure to contact us, and we will be glad to help.
|
Q: |
Is physical course material sent to me? Does the track cost include all the course
materials? |
|
A: |
Yes. We will ship to you physical official vendor courseware (e.g. for Microsoft,
we will send you Microsoft Official Curriculum) as part of your study kit. The track
cost includes all relevant courseware material to complete your studies. |
|
Q: |
Is software included, can one buy at a discounted rate? |
|
A: |
All relevant software sent with your official curriculum is included. This can include
student CD's, additional reference material, evaluation software, etc. We do not
supply full versions of software, however, you have the ability to purchase software
at discounted rates from the various vendors (e.g. Microsoft) upon certification.
Please visit the vendor's website for more information. |
If still have any unanswered questions, be sure to contact us, and we will be glad to help.
|
Q: |
If I study at my own pace and at my own location, how do I perform practical exercises
I would usually get in a classroom based environment? |
|
A: |
In order to ensure you can perform your practical exercises, you will be granted
access to the Netscope Training Virtual Lab System. This system will be able to
grant you access to real servers located at Netscope Training Server Hosting facilities
- just as if you were sitting within a classroom environment. The only difference
now, is that it is done online over the web, rather than sitting in front of a PC
in a classroom. |
|
Q: |
Can I get access to a trainer if I’m really stuck? |
|
A: |
Definitely. Upon registration, you have access to Discussion Forums and also the
Study Support System. Both of these systems are monitored by certified trainers
and you will receive a response to your questions within 24 hours. |
|
Q: |
How long will it take to complete a study track, e.g. MCSE? |
|
A: |
This is all up to you. However, there is a limit: upon registration to the CLS Study
Portal (which guides you through your studies by providing you with a study plan),
you will have up to a maximum of 1 year to complete your studies. This is true for
all CL tracks. |
|
Q: |
Do I need to be online all the time when studying?
|
|
A: |
Not all the time. Since you receive actual printed material to study from, you will
only need to be online to, for example: (1) interact with the CLS Study Portal,
(2) get support from certified trainers, (3) access practical lab sessions. |
If still have any unanswered questions, be sure to contact us, and we will be glad to help.
|
Q: |
The MCSD and MCAD certifications only seem to offered with .NET 1.0 and .NET 1.1
- when will they be offered on .NET 2.0? |
|
A: |
The MCSD and MCAD certifications will not be offered on the .NET 2.0 platform. However,
Microsoft have released a whole new range of certifications specifically for the
.NET 2.0 framework. These are the MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist)
and MCPD (Microsoft Certified Professional Developer) certifications respectively.
These certifications are aimed at a particular speciality, e.g. Web Development
or Windows Forms Development. For more information on these courses,

|
Q: |
Is there an MCDBA (Microsoft Certified Database Administator) certification for
SQL 2005? |
|
A: |
Yes there is, but it is not called the MCDBA, but rather the MCITP (Microsoft Certified
IT Professional) in SQL 2005.

|
Q: |
I get no results from the Help me Decide Wizard |
|
A: |
Sometimes the options selected during the wizard will give too restrictive a set of circumstances for a concrete result.
This does not mean we cannot help you. Your best course of action would be to contact one of our consultants, to
better assist you. Please use our contact us page to do so (either telephonically, online chat or email).
For more information on our courses,
|
Q: |
I select an option during the wizard, and get presented with a Contact Us page |
|
A: |
This result is similar to the above situation, in that you selected an (or series of options) and the wizard doesn’t
know how to proceed or recommend a result.
You can re-try the wizard by using the “reset” button, and trying a
slightly less restrictive set of options. Alternatively, you can leave a message for a consultant to contact you. |
|
Q: |
Selecting multiple options in the wizard steps? |
|
A: |
The wizard allows you to, on certain steps, select multiple options through the use of check boxes. By selecting multiple options,
you expand the ability for the wizard to recommend courses. For example, should you wish to study an engineering styled course,
and then are asked which vendor you prefer, by selecting multiple vendors (e.g. Microsoft, CompTIA, etc.), you will get results
for engineering styled courses from all these vendors. |
|
Q: |
Does the wizard recommend pricing and courses for my region? |
|
A: |
Yes. If your country is correctly selected (see above of each page) then the Wizard will automatically switch to the default
currency for your region. In addition, courses for your region will also be displayed as results. |
|
Q: |
What is a short course in the wizard options? |
|
A: |
A short course is a single course, which won't take you too much time to complete (e.g. it is not a full certification course). However,
all Netcampus students are allowed to study and access the Study Portal and support for an entire year from the date of course activation. You can, however, complete your studies
sooner if you wish to do so. |
If still have any unanswered questions, be sure to contact us, and we will be glad to help.
|
Q: |

|
A: |

flexible timetable and study methodology will give you positive results, that we offer a money back guarantee to students who

|
Q: |
Does the Satisfaction Guarantee apply to all courses at Netcampus? |
|
A: |
No. Only courses marked with the “Satisfaction Guarantee” logo qualify for the Satisfaction Guarantee program. |
|
Q: |
Why is it that only certain courses have the Satisfaction Guarantee? |
|
A: |
Only courses that have corresponding International Exam(s) qualify for the Satisfaction Guarantee. If you do not
succeed in passing the International Exams, only then can we gauge whether we have correctly delivered our service to you. |
|
Q: |
Do I need to say that I want to be part of the Satisfaction Guarantee program? |
|
A: |
Yes. When purchasing a qualifying course, you will need to select that you want to be part of the Satisfaction Guarantee program during your checkout (payment) process. |
|
Q: |

|
A: |
Check out our International Exams FAQ for more details. |
